The Depthcore Collective is proud to releases it’s 40th themed chapter exhibition, ‘MYTHIC’. One of our most thematic relevant Chapters ever, ‘MYTHIC’ is the result of five months of careful planning, research and stylistic experimentation from the collective. The slow creative process has resulted in a Chapter that has been meticulously crafted, workshopped from sketches through to completed pieces, thoroughly taking advantage of the collaborative collective experience. Several of the pieces presented in this collection were composed over the course of several months, taking on board feedback from our artist base at each stage of completion to try and fully realize their full potential, and ultimately create a Chapter that is carefully considered, conceptualized and executed. Hymen Records just released a new double CD compilation. Miwak Twelve features over 30 artists, including two artists that constantly work for the design community, Combustion and HECQ.

Apparently the new trend is to make music videos with naked people walking on street careless. Make the Girl Dance “Baby Baby Baby” was shot near the place I lived in Paris, rue Montorgueil, a crowded place. Also need to check the Matt and Kim “Lessons Learned”, while they walk ‘gently’ getting undressed in the middle of Time Square in NY.

(HKI)™HelloHikimori™ develops a unique world for Diesel’s new fragrance: Only the Brave The French creative studio (HKI)™ created a site that not only has all the process of doing Diesel’s latest product, but also has the creative input from different artists like Tofa, Nico Stumpo and Renascent, expressing their visions of force and courage, based on the concepts that “Only the Brave” was born. The site will also gain continuous inputs from artists all over the world, including Peter Jaworowski, Serial Cut, Tom Muller, LaundryMat , Michael Paul Young, Mr.doob, Jemma Hosteler,Suprb, eBoy, MWM ,Lapp Pro, NandoCosta, Combustion, Si Scott, Alex Trochut, Eric Carl. Following the launching in Berlin, there will be a party on May 15th, in Paris.

Nigel Dennis just released a video for A Lull “Skinny Fingers”, his rock/folk band. Nigel illustrated and animated hundreds of stills on this video. Enjoy it, along with the great music played by this Chicago band.

A nice music video made for Los Punsetes by Tomás Peña, at Oink Digital. Reminds me “Breathe Me” from Sia, but with another cool perspective. Really well done.

I recently picked up this free magazine called Susology which at first though interesting seemed a little weird. After some more exploring it seems it’s “SUSOLOGY is the study of Imagination, Creativity and Determination.” I read quite a bit and though at times it covers ground that other publications do it’s well worth looking at. Read more here and they also have a social networking tool thing.

Douglas de Castro is a really nice illustrator from Goiania Rock City, Brazil. And yes, as he is from a Rock City, he also has a band. Check out Black Drawing Chalks!

Early in 2009, the band Omega Code will release their debut, and along with that, a book, a DVD and a FREE series of posters based on their upcoming album “Ω”. A limited number of 2300 posters are going to be printed and distributed around the globe.
