Background
James Greenfield is a designer at London based studio BB/Saunders. His spare time is spent pretending to update his own site but failing miserably as he gets distracted by the fortunes of Tottenham Hotspur, Drum&Bass and making lists.Posts

Just came across a copy of this excellent little magazine on personal interior space. Has some nice insights from people such as Mike Mills. Worth it for those into such things.

- A lot of interesting stuff to see over at Village Green’s new site including the excellent Mark Ronson campaign and increasingly freaky Fabric work.

From the sublime to the bizarre there is plenty to test the mind here. |
The talented Miss Holly Wales updates with some new illustration goodness.

My ex-colleague has set up on his own. On display a great portfolio from a very strong designer.

Been linked everywhere I am sure but a new site from Non-Format deserves attention.

With sadness this morning I read about the typographer/designer Robert Harling who passed away yesterday. The designer of Playbill and Tea Chest among other fonts he led a fascinating life including naval spying and inclusion as a character in The Spy Who Loved Me
If my life ends up half as interesting as his I shall be over the moon.

James West has put together a book of 50 designers favourite typefaces in aid of UNICEF. Yours for only £3 and well worth it. - M O M O has just let me know you can now buy prints of his excellent street work online. Wish I had a few spare $$$. |

There’s something very odd and magical about the photography of Grégoire Alexandre. Highlights for me include the image above, steaming boots and the ski-ing images. I just can’t stop looking at them.
Some beautiful portrait and human studies by Caroline De Vries on show on her site.

This link is stolen from the excellent Dezeen blog but was too good not to share. BMW have been doing these cars since 1975 and have the various results in a their museum. The Alexander Calder and David Hockney ones stand out for me. Excellent.

Lots of advertising these days (in the UK at least) employs a lot of techniques and looks which are great from an aesthetic point of view or novelty but mean little to the product. This advert for VW Golf hit a chord with me and I think it’s perfect. It’s about the car, it’s use and what part it plays in peoples lives. Its also a really cool idea that makes a great sound piece. For me they got this one bang on.
(Sound by Paul Hartnoll formerly of Orbital, Ad by DDB) Liking this Helvetica world clock screensaver a lot.
