Area 17 has a new site up. A lot more information about the company and team involved. I’ve enjoyed Arnaud’s work for years, since the old days of web design, but there are a lot people behind this company. It looks like the team has a serious mix of design / management / strategy. I like the various languages they speak… some more, some less. www.area17.com

It’s not Monday, but Hello to these fine folks in Denmark. Took a second to get the interface, but well done, and that work is tops. I really like that my scroll works on the site too. Hello Monday

I always enjoy going through Hort’s work. A few new things up, but the old stuff never gets old. Definitely a favorite.

My friends at Grow Interactive finally have a full site up. They’re quietly doing some great work, and from a smaller market, right down the road.

Always impressed with the work/photography, but there hasn’t been a full site for a while. Marcus Eriksson is so clean and finally has a site. Checkout Subdisc.

Joel Speasmaker has a website, thisisforest. He shares his design work, and a lot of the other things in his life. There is even a recently opened store. You can also see what he has been up to by picking up a new issue of Anthem magazine. Seems like LA is working out well for him.

This company has done some really nice work renovating places in NYC, as well as several other projects. Can’t wait to do some of this on my place.

I’m always a sucker for the video sites. This one is well done and provides a few moments of amusement. UT LOOP Uniqlo seems to always put some power behind their online campaigns.

NEWWORK A large-format newspaper publication for readers who appreciate the value of new ideas. That sounds pretty good to me. It’s out of stock on YWFT, but I’m waiting to hear when they’re back.

I launched this site a while back. Video sites have been my interest lately, and I’m sure we’ll see a lot more of them soon. I shot, edited and concepted the site. Flash programming was done by Chris Volk. The concept was to showcase the employees as the stores brand Since they’re in the business of selling other peoples products, their greatest asset is the knowledgeable and extremely cool staff. Need Supply Co.

I’m always interested in the people behind things. This is a look at the studios behind the names, so I guess it’s the same idea, because I like those too. Where do you work? AINTNODISCO

Yesterday we got to listen to Massimo Vignelli talk about his life and career as a designer. From growing up in Italy, moving to the US and his first clients. Funny when you can talk about the NYC subway system as an early client. Very interesting and enlightening to hear him. Definitely something I could do a few more times. One of his best lines was “we all love complexity, but hate complications.” Well done for VCU to bring him here to Richmond, VA. Massimo Vignelli
