I saw this for the first time in the past few weeks. Absolutely a fantastic make over. Cnn, Msnbc and others should and most likely will learn from this.

Personally it doesn’t really do it for me. I get there, and I don’t know where I’m supposed to look. Sites like this are tools, so they often become easier to use over time., but at first glance I’m overwhelmed. Projects like this are one of the hardest interface design challenges, because there is so much competing content.

Gabriel, I agree with your point about the overwhelming amount of content. Though have to say, I think this sort of functionality successfully embraces that fact to the user’s benefit. Giving us complete control over the experience (with a clean design foundation, of course) is an excellent way to avoid the pitfalls of tackling such heavy interface design. This site is definitely one of my recent favorites.

Yes, that functionality is really nice. I was just speaking from my first interpretation of the site. I really think those news portals are some of the most challenging interfaces. I’ll spend some time with the site, and I’m sure it will win me over.
