Boico blog image
Boico blog image For a new generation, blogging is replacing print as the dominant communication vector. It’s main advantage over print is the speed at which information can be disseminated. This speed is a double-edged sword however; it can lead to a lack of quality in presentation and content. As the medium matures, traditional design/editorial skills will likely separate professionals from amateurs, take for example the photography on boico.net/490. There is no WordPress template for this (note how photo backdrop matches blog html). It’s a very simple concept, just transplanting print level quality in presentation to the web.

I completely agree with the speed of blogs sometimes ruining the quality of content. I can get a bit carried away sometime myself.

What they are doing over at the boicozine is really interesting! With time I’d image we would build FormFiftyFive differently and if possible make it more like an actual magazine. Since most of the work we present is print-based it would probably make a lot more sense.
